5 Fancy Toilets Fit For A King (Review For A Luxury Throne)

Fancy toilets have a strong market in the U.S. because so many people like luxurious sessions on the pot. Can you blame them?

If you consider how much time we spend on our toilets, it’s understandable to want something that not only looks great but is comfortable as well. You’ll notice that the toilets on this list are all 1 piece toilets (much different than the standard 1 piece).

1 piece toilets are sleek and modern in appearance. If style and impression matter to you, then you definitely want a 1 piece toilet. They look better, and you’ll get plenty of compliments from friends and family that visit.

There are hundreds of more affordable toilet options available but these models are the best-of-the-best. They also happen to come from well-respected brands that you can rely on for years to come.

Brands That Are Known For Fancy Toilets

Toto

Even if you don’t have much toilet knowledge, you’ve likely heard of Toto. The company was founded in the early 1900s in Japan. Their porcelain bowls caught on with Western culture and they began shipping them to Europe and the U.S. Japan is one of the reasons the Western world uses porcelain toilets.

The Japanese are known for their attention to detail and precision. Although most people think that a toilet is a simple technology, toilets can be quite advanced.

If you’ve ever taken a trip to Japan you’ll notice many of their toilets have electric components (heaters, dryers, bidets, automatic flushing).

The Toto toilets mentioned in this article are the company’s best and fanciest options. Toto proudly serves the top of the line options for your bathroom.

Kohler

The Kohler company is an American company based out of Wisconsin. They have been around since the late 1800s and are known for their range of plumbing products.

You may have purchased showerheads or water faucets from Kohler in the past and you’ve likely used one of their toilets. Kohler is well-respected and they make toilets that range in quality (from simple 2 piece toilets to high-end modern options).

In this article, I’ll share 2 fancy Kohler toilets that will pop in your bathroom. Depending on how fancy your bathroom is, these Kohler toilets might wind up as the centerpiece of the room.

Axent

I’m guessing you haven’t heard of Axent. If not, I recommend considering them for your fancy toilet.

Compared to the other companies on this list, Axent is a company in its infancy. It began in 2008 and is headquartered in Switzerland. They focus on high-end, stylish bathroom products, especially the toilet.

I must admit, I like the look and the lines of their toilets. It’s obvious their bidet toilet systems are well-engineered. Along with style, they also emphasize water conservation. They’ve won a number of design awards in Europe and expect to make a big impact in the U.S.

Features You’ll Want In A Fancy Toilet

With all fancy toilets, you should expect it to be tankless and modern. The engineering of the look is extremely important so that it can make a statement and blend in with any bathroom design.

But the look of the toilet is only the starting point. The options need to be just as generous.

Some of the fancy toilets on this list will include ambient lighting, which is appreciated at night. Another bonus is the automatic open and close seat as well as the automatic flush.

A fancy toilet is not complete without a heated toilet seat and bidet. Some Americans might be surprised at the thought of a bidet, but once you’ve used one you won’t be able to live without it.

Warm water bidets do a much better job of cleaning and they moisturize at the same time (no more dry, rough toilet paper).

Below are a few common extras you should expect to have in a luxurious toilet.

  • Modern
  • Tankless
  • Ambient light / Nightlight
  • Auto open and close
  • Auto flush
  • Bidet wash with warm water
  • Foot warmer
  • Mp3 / Bluetooth compatible

5 Fancy Toilets Fit For A King (Reviews For A Luxury Throne)

#1 Toto Neorest NX1

Toto is the best at making over-the-top toilets and their NX and Neorest models are hard to beat. This toilet is fancy but also provides some of the environmental considerations that are important (water conservation).

The shape is curvy and modern it is described as an elliptical silhouette. At first glance it’s hard to discern whether it’s really a toilet – it looks like a rounded chair. It has a hands-free open and close lid with an auto flush option as well.

Highlights:

  • Tornado flush system (WaterSense certified)
  • Front an rear warm wash
  • Nightlight
  • Air deodorizer
  • Air dried
  • Remote and sensor
  • Pressure controls
  • 1 piece with ceramic glaze

Everything you need is included in the toilet. The unit has a built-in bidet that provides warm water on demand and washes both the front and the back. The nightlight gives a warm light for use at night (check out the Neorest on Amazon).

You don’t see the tank with this toilet. It’s a super fancy toilet that your friends and family will enjoy again and again. Who knew sitting on the toilet could feel good?

#2 Kohler Numi

Kohler has a few fancy toilets on their roster and the Numi model is their option for serious luxury. Unlike the Toto mentioned above, Numi has a square, ultra-modern look. It has more lines than curves and it has a clean look.

I really like how the seat opens up automatically and I like the foot heater on the bottom of the toilet. The MP3 and Bluetooth compatibility is a nice touch, although I’m not sure if it’s necessary.

Highlights:

  • 1 piece elongated bowl
  • Ultra modern, square appearance
  • Comfort height – like a chair
  • Motion activated and hands-free open and close
  • Dual flush .06 / 1.28 (WaterSense certified)
  • Built-in bidet with an air dryer, adjustable spray
  • Charcoal filtration for odors
  • Heated foot warmer and seat
  • MP3 and Bluetooth
  • Beautiful ambient light
  • Touch screen remote

This toilet opens unlike any toilet I’ve ever seen. It’s truly a “smart toilet”. The look is perfect for anyone living in the city who wants a modern, luxurious feel. Oh yeah, it has the built-in bidet as well (check out Kohler’s luxury Numi on Amazon).

I also like that it’s a dual flush toilet so it meets the water-saving regulations of every State. You don’t even have to worry about smells with this toilet because it has a charcoal filter.

#3 Axent Switzerland One C+

Axent is relatively new to the toilet industry but they’ve made a statement by winning international design awards. This is a beauty and it has most of the same features you’ll find on the larger brands.

This Axent fancy toilet uses a low-profile design and a full skirt on the bottom of the toilet. I can’t even figure out where the water is stored (it’s compact). Warming seat, gentle cleansing, and customizable features. This toilet will impress you and the people who visit you.

Highlights:

  • Sleek, 1 piece design
  • Low profile
  • One control (no remote)
  • Adjustable spray
  • Water and seat temperature
  • Dryer intensity
  • Antibacterial glaze
  • Nightlight

This toilet has a built-in bidet but it doesn’t use a remote. Instead, you control the options on a single dial.   I like the look of this toilet and I like that it’s a little more practical than the top 2 toilets on this list (check out Axent’s luxury toilet on Amazon).

There is no automatic flush, nor an automatic opening and closing lid or a foot warmer, but that’s okay – it’s still an amazing toilet.

#4 Toto Neorest 700H

Back to another Toto option. The Neorest isn’t ranked #1 but it’s still a luxurious toilet. It’s not quite as sleek as the NX1, but the Neorest is a beautiful modern toilet with a more angular toilet seat.

Once again, it’s 1 piece that will stand out (or blend in) in your bathroom. Let’s look at a few of the offerings.

Highlights:

  • Double cyclone flushing system
  • Full skirt bottom for a seamless connection with the floor
  • Elongated bowl
  • Remote to control seat and water temperature as well as flush
  • Hands-free flush
  • Oscillating and pulsating spray options

There have been multiple iterations of the Neorest and this is the most advanced. It’s a beauty and Toto does an impressive job of adding luxury toilet features while keeping the toilet compact (check out Neorest 700H on Amazon).

Keep in mind that with these toilets you’ll need an outlet nearby. The heating, lighting, and auto flush features require electricity – if you’re looking for a fancy toilet you already know that!

#5 Kohler Veil Intelligent Toilet

Kohler is also in the list 2x times and this Veil model is elegant and modern. I like the look of this design as much as any others on the list.

It uses a compact, streamlined design in a 1 piece toilet. The elongated bowl will provide plenty of space for taller individuals. It also has the environment in mind with a .8 or 1.28 gallons per flush option.

Highlights:

  • 1 piece modern and compact design
  • Elongated bowl
  • Dual flush .8 / 1.28 gallons per flush (WaterSense certified)
  • Stainless steel bidet (warmth, direction, pressure, oscillate options)
  • Heated seat
  • Automatic water feed

This toilet might be the hidden gem on the list. It offers many of the same options you’ll find on the other toilets, however, the price is at a big discount (check out Kohler’s luxury Veil on Amazon).

You won’t get an automatic open/close lid, automatic flush, nightlight, foot heater, but you will get a great looking toilet with a built-in bidet. You will still be impressed with this toilet!

My Pick For Best Fancy Toilet

I can appreciate all the toilets on this list and I’d be happy to have any of them. For me, the brand is important and Toto has that brand that I trust (even more than Kohler). Toto was a pioneer in bringing technology to toilets and they’ve made messy bidets into precision instruments.

The Toto NX1 is a beautiful porcelain toilet that’s well-rounded (both literally and figuratively). It looks like a piece of art more-so than a toilet.

The automatic open and closing of the lid and the automatic flush make it truly a hands-free toilet. Just set your preferences and you’ll know what to expect every time.

At night it lights up with a soft light to let you know where it is. The NX1 is my pick and I think it will stay that way until Toto’s next iteration.

Conclusion

What makes the best fancy toilet? There’s a lot to consider but the 1st thing is the look. The fanciest toilets will be a modern looking 1 piece toilet. A 1 piece toilet hides the tank and makes for a more stylish appearance.

A fancy toilet should also have a built-in bidet with the ability to adjust the spray and temperature. The bidet will have a standard and feminine wash with various pressure options.

Premium toilets might have nightlights, automatic open and closing lids, as well as auto flush. I was surprised to see the Kohler Numi had a foot warmer as well – a clever idea. The Numi was also the only option that came in a darker color. I liked it as an ultra-modern toilet but preferred the curves of the Toto toilets.

If you’re looking for a fancy toilet, the cost shouldn’t be a problem. Although the prices for these toilets vary, they are all great options. Choose a brand that you trust and model that you like. Whichever toilet you choose will be sure to impress you and others who use it.
