We spend a lot of time on the toilet and if you’re like me, maybe you’ve thought about playing a game on the toilet (toilet golf anyone?). Maybe you arrived here because you need a toilet gift for a loved one.
Sitting on the toilet seems like a great place for reading or talking on the phone, but playing a game can be more fun. Whether it’s playing basketball, fishing, or darts, there are plenty of clever ideas to keep you busy on the porcelain throne.
We’ve compiled a thorough list of toilet games to keep you busy and having fun on the pot. Need a game to help teach your child to use the toilet? We’ve got that covered too.
Games I’ve Played on the Toilet
Growing up I spent a lot of time on the toilet (as we all did). I was usually bored, day dreaming or thinking about a homework assignment or upcoming exam.
I remember having a great idea about putting my mini basketball hoop on the bathroom door and shooting hoops while I used the toilet.
I had an existing hoop that was in my bedroom and I rarely used it. I took it off the top of the door and placed in on the bathroom door.
After installing my new bathroom basketball hoop I spent more time on the toilet than I did before. Why you ask? I was practicing my shot and I challenged myself to make a set number of shots before I left the toilet.
The ball I played with usually bounced back to me on the toilet but I remember having to get up and fetch the ball a few times (not a comfortable position to stand while you’re still using the toilet). Toilet basketball helped cure my boredom on the pot.
13 Best Toilet Games and Gifts (Toilet Golf, Basketball, and more)
-
Basketball
Toilet basketball is a fun one but not so much fun when the ball lands far away from the toilet (then you’re in a predicament). Thankfully, bathrooms are small enough that shots, made or missed, will usually return to the vicinity of the toilet.
If you live in a palace and have a large bathroom, retrieving your ball after shooting could be a challenge. To solve this problem, order a few more basketballs so you don’t have to chase the same one over and over again.
When I played toilet basketball I would have a set amount of baskets I needed to make before leaving the bathroom. Usually 5 makes, or 10 if my toilet break was unusually long.
I like the Leep Loop bathroom basketball set because it comes with 3 balls (the more the better) and ball storage, a hoop, a mat that resembles a small court.
The net and backboard have a suction cup that should attach to most doors or walls.
This is a fun gift for husbands and kids alike!
-
Golf
I think most people have seen toilet golf in movies or on television. It’s the perfect gag gift for people who love golf and believe it or not they will use it (at least once).
Toilet golf isn’t complicated so even people who don’t understand the game can have a go at it. Just use the putter to hit the ball in the hole.
The green area goes around the toilet but more advanced players can place the green farther away to make things difficult.
The Moonmini golf set comes with:
- Putting green mat
- 2 golf balls
- Flagpole
- Putter
There’s even a note for the door that says “don’t bother me I’m putting”.
Most customers appear to be buying the toilet golf game for their husband or for a joke. Customers like it and say that anyone who plays golf will enjoy it for a session or 2 and get a few laughs out of it.
-
Poopy Head Card Game
Fist off, this is a hot board game and not something you’ll want to play while on the toilet. Second, we included it because it has a toilet theme. Third, the game includes poops that are put on the players head (which is pretty funny).
The game is played with a deck of 48 cards, 5 poopy heads, 1 whoopie cushion and a rule card.
Your supposed to discard cards as quickly as possible to avoid being the “poopy head” and the cleanest player at the end of 5 rounds win.
Over 200 people have played and reviewed the game. Many reviews say the game was for kids but the adults ended up getting the most laughs. I think the photos from this game would make it worthwhile – I’m sure people look funny while wearing the poop on their head.
-
Fishing
Perfect Life Idea’s “toilet fishing” games looks like a blast. Ok, maybe not for adults but for kids it would be a hit.
The game uses a blue mat that acts as the water. Fish are placed on the mat and a fishing pole is used to catch the fish. It is magnetic so it’s not too difficult but there is patience involved and it’s a good distraction to get kids to use the toilet.
If you’re having trouble with potty training this is a great game to get your kid on the toilet.
For adults the game is too elementary but it could also work as a gag gift for guys and gals that love fishing. It includes:
- Pole
- 4 Fish
- Blue mat
- Sign for the door (busy fishing)
Reviews are few but good. Most customers are buying this as an incentive for potty training. The pole is short, which is nice for the bathroom and there are 4 colorful fish.

Talking Toilet Roll Holder
Want to surprise your bathroom visitors? This is less of a game and more of a prank. The toilet roll holder has a small speaker and as the roll turns it shares a message with the person on the toilet.
You can even use your own recording so the person using the toilet hears your voice (talk about creepy and hilarious).
The talking toilet roll holder fits all toilet roll sizes. After hearing the message the person using the toilet can record a message of their own for the next bathroom guest.
This is great to scare people. It’s also great, as some customers mention, to remind people to change the roll after it’s used up. Ideas for messages include:
- Weather forecast
- To-do list
- Reminder (to replace the TP or put the toilet seat down)
- Yell – surprise or scary message
One customer mentioned she used it as a training tool to teach her children not to forget about replacing a new TP roll. I novel idea and this device can be taken to friend’s homes after it’s been used at your house.
With hundreds of reviews, the talking toilet roll holder is well-reviewed and well-liked!
-
Darts
Toilet darts might sound like a dangerous game while sitting on the porcelain throne but this style of darts uses a ball and Velcro. You won’t injure yourself, nor will you throw darts into wall.
Now, you might be wondering about how to get the dart (ball) after you’ve thrown it. These guys thought of that and included a string that goes around the finger and around the dart. You throw the dart (ball) and pull the string to return it.
There is a realistic dart board with a numbered scoring system. You can keep track of your score, write it down and leave a challenge for the next person using the toilet – fun for the whole family.
-
Sodoku
Even if Sodoku seems unfamiliar, you’ll recognize the square boxes with a few numbers inside. Sodoku is a numbers challenge, similar to crossword puzzles. To play the game you must figure out where the correct numbers go.
This toilet game has sodoku printed on the toilet paper. Because toilet paper is thin and most toilet users won’t have a pencil the game probably won’t be played.
Even if your bathroom guests don’t play, it’s a great gag gift that will bring some laughs.
The sodoku toilet paper roll will be fun for friends and family who like puzzles and every puzzle on the roll is different – which provides at least a week of new games depending on how much TP you use.
The roll comes in a pack of 1.
-
Toilet Trouble Game
The toilet trouble game is not something you’ll want to play on the toilet, however it will be fun for kids as they learn about using the porcelain throne. The game is simple:
- Insert water into the mini-toilet
- Flush the toilet
- The toilet paper will spin and land on #1, 2, or 3
- The number indicates how many times they must flush
- Listen for the sound and hope it’s not a spray
It’s definitely toilet humor and not something adults will enjoy. Also, there’s little strategy involved. If you’re trying to teach young kids about using the toilet it might be a good game to get them interested.
-
Coffee Cup
Know someone with a potty mouth? This toilet coffee cup is the perfect answer for someone with toilet humor. It might even shut them up!
However it’s more likely to make them laugh. The coffee cup is made to look like a small toilet and holds 12 ounces of liquid. Other than the hilarious shape, it works like a typical coffee cup – perfect for your morning cup of jo.
Candy can also be stored in the mug. If I was to buy it I might put potpourie in the cup and keep it on top of the real toilet (a fun addition to the bathroom).

Toilet Soccer Restroom Game
Do you have soccer fever! The world loves soccer and it’s becoming more and more popular in the U.S.
If playing outside on the grass is not enough, you might want to try the toilet soccer game. It’s funny and fun at the same time.
The creators of the game discovered that you probably won’t want to move your legs around kicking a ball, so they provide a handle with a foot attached for kicking the ball (you have to see it to believe it).
This is another bathroom game for the person in your life that loves soccer. It comes with:
- 1 soccer stick
- A soccer mat (showing the field)
- 1 goal
- 1 ball
- And a “do not disturb sign”
As a gift it will make the whole family laugh. And everyone will try the game at least once!
-
Fake Poop
One of my all-time favorite pranks is the “fake poop” prank. Whether it’s Christmas, April Fool’s Day, or just for a family member who is obsessed with the toilet, this gag gift will surprise people and make them laugh.
I used this at a family get together and it went over well. The look on my nephew’s face when he found it was priceless.
He came into the dinner room shocked and said “somebody missed the toilet”. Everyone in the family looked at each other to narrow down the suspect then my sister went to investigate.
She came back to the table laughing but slightly disgusted. I think the men at the table found it to be a better joke than the women.
-
Toilet Timer
The toilet timer is important for large families or for people who stay on the pot for way too long.
Growing up, I had to bang on the bathroom door in the morning to get my sister out. I really don’t understand why people spend so much time in the bathroom and on the toilet. How long does it really take?
The toilet timer keeps people accountable so they aren’t wasting too much time. The timer uses the same concept as the traditional sand timers but in the shape of a person going the bathroom – the sand goes out of the person and into the toilet (very clever).
This is perfect for families or people who are trying to improve their time management. Put a timer in the family bathroom or leave one near the toilet at work to let your employees know that time is of utmost importance.

Don’t Step In It – Poo Game
Hasbro came out with a new game about poo. Yes, the end of the world is near – at least the game is fun.
The “Don’t Step In It” game is a good outdoors game for kids and it’s sure to bring laughter to a birthday party or slumber party.
The poo is made of a soft material that squishes in between toes. There are two color of poo (cream colored and brown colored). The goal of the game is to get across the playing board blindfolded without landing in the poo.
You can play as individuals or as a team. My advice is to not let your competitors direct you to land on the poo. High steps, side steps, long steps, and shuffle steps are all options to get over the poo.
Don’t Step In It comes with:
- Blindfold
- 4 Cans of Compound (poo)
- Plastic mold
- Spinner
- Board with arrow and base
- Instructions
